The Getrag five-speed gearbox conversion allows a classic Jaguar to have today’s modern technology fitted, improving gear change due to the close ratio gears. By having a fifth gear it allows the car to cruise at lower revs when at high speed. For example instead of driving on a motorway at 70Mph and the car revving at five thousand revs, it will be revving at three thousand revs. This conversion really does make the car a pleasure to drive especially at high speeds.

This conversion can be fitted with relative ease with very few modifications required. The gear lever has been designed to fit in exactly the same location as the original for each cars conversion. The conversion uses the standard Jaguar clutch also meaning no modification is required there either. The only modification is the alteration of the length of the propshaft which can either be carried out or modified by you, or we can supply a brand new modified propshaft for an extra cost of £175 + Vat.

The Getrag five-speed conversion includes the following parts, Getrag 5 speed gearbox, gear lever, adaptor plate, support bracket, drive flange and spigot bush bearing.

Short Getrag gearbox – This gearbox conversion is for E-type series one and two and XK120. Cost of conversion £1750 + Vat (£2056.25)

 

 

 

Long Getrag gearbox – This gearbox conversion is for E-Type series three,
MK1/2, XK140/150 and XJ/XJS. Cost of conversion £1750 + Vat (£2056.25)
