Mike Wilkinson has owned Jaguars since the age of 17 and by the age of 21 had acquired his first E-type!. It is little surprise that with his early involvement with Jaguars, he would devote his career to the care and maintenance of these Classic cars and develop a Major UK based Jaguar Parts and Service business with a Worldwide reputation for a high quality service.
In the 60’s and 70’s, there tended to be a limited number of Jaguar Parts suppliers compared to the abundance of Parts Supplies today and the now comprehensive availability of Parts for most models. Resulting from the production discontinuation of the Classic Jaguar models in the 60’s and 70’s and the limited parts then available, Mike started to collect and hoard parts from as many sources as possible so that in the future at least, he would be able to keep his Jaguars on the road for as long as possible.
Resulting from Mike’s growing collection of Jaguar parts and his comprehensive knowledge gained from repairing his own cars at the time, he started to provide parts and services initially to friends, but thereafter to other Jaguar owners who had heard of the quality of the service provided. The M & C Wilkinson business commenced operations in 1984 when Mike finally decided to convert his passion for Classic Jaguars and his considerable knowledge and experience into a full time business operation.
Mike’s knowledge and expertise has also developed from having a close involvement in racing Jaguars over the years specifically hill climbing. He has successfully raced C, D and E-types. Mike is now racing the Jackie Stewart racing E-type that was successfully driven by Jackie Stewart in 1962 where it won two races at Chaterhall. It also had victories at Rufforth in April 1963 overall achieving a total of six wins in the car. Jackie also used the car for his honeymoon - hopefully driving his new wife at a much slower pace!. Following these early successes, Jackie was recognized by Lofty England the Jaguar Works Team Manager and was given the chance to drive the Jaguar works E-type 4 WPD. Following further successes driving E-types, he then went on into Formula One and was three times Formula One World Champion.
